On Wednesday evening, an agreement was signed with Gazeti, the platform that facilitates the broadcasts of DOS Kampen Radio. This ensures that the club can guarantee live broadcasts of the first team’s matches for its supporters and followers in the coming years. The contract was co-signed by Wladimir Nijenhuis of Gazeti. “At Gazeti, we are very pleased that Wilco reached out to us, which ultimately led to the creation of DOSK-radio. This has evolved into a wonderful partnership where Gazeti serves as the connecting factor,” said Nijenhuis.
Official and Unique
Through this commitment, DOSK-radio has become an official media branch of the association. Having its own radio program is quite unique for an amateur club. While Gazeti hopes many others will follow soon, DOS Kampen can proudly call itself one of the first amateur clubs to launch its own live internet radio station.

Initiative Driven by Passion
After the local radio program RTV IJsselmond Sport ceased to exist, commentator Wilco Bastiaannet looked for a way to continue his passion. “As a reporter, I was frequently told that live sports broadcasts were deeply missed. That motivated me to find a way to provide live coverage of the first team for my own club. Through some research, I discovered the Gazeti platform. It was exactly what I was looking for, and the rest is history,” Wilco explained.

Strong Listenership
DOS Kampen Radio began broadcasting during the current season. “We started with pilot broadcasts and eventually, after resolving some initial teething problems and upgrading the equipment, we reached an acceptable level to proceed permanently,” said Bastiaannet. Since then, many listeners have found their way to DOSK-Radio. “The listener numbers increased rapidly. Post-broadcast reports showed between 350 and 400 unique listeners. That’s quite a few coach buses full,” Wilco noted with satisfaction.

For now, DOS Kampen Radio focuses on the away matches of the first team. “You have to start somewhere. Many people cannot attend away games, so that is our primary focus. Future expansions, such as coverage of home matches, interviews, or podcasts, are certainly possible. The most rewarding part is doing this for listeners who, whether temporarily or permanently, can no longer physically attend a match. Whether they are elderly or ill—a great example is a DOS supporter who was housebound for five weeks due to a workplace accident but could still follow the team multiple times via the audio livestream.”
“Furthermore, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the company Present-It for finding the right equipment and providing advice, as well as André van Rees, who provides technical remote support for every broadcast,” Wilco concluded.
